Llullaillaco 6752m
A high peak on the Chile/Argentina border. On the summit there are extensive ruins, including a short stairway, several small stone dwellings and various raised terraces. these date from the time of the Incas when the mountain was used for religious purposes and sacrifices.
The height is often quoted as 6739m, but recent satellite elevation data, plus handheld readings by myself and Maximo Kausch indicate a higher altitude of at least 6745m, (SRTM - Eberhard Jurgalski) and 6752m (GPS - Max Kausch). My own 2009 measurement indicates the 6752m figure.
